Tractor trailer driver arrested after using truck to ram vehicles

On the morning of Friday, May 6, 2022 at about 8 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office began receiving 911 calls of a tractor trailer that had hit multiple vehicles in the parking lot of the Say When Casino before coming to a stop after colliding with another vehicle on US 95, causing the tractor to become disabled.


 Dispatchers immediately dispatched patrol deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and notified the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Highway Patrol.  


When deputies and troopers arrived, they contacted the driver of the tractor trailer, identified as 48 year-old Geovany Jimenez-Zarceno, of Mountain Home, Idaho.


Based on statements from witnesses and victims on scene, it appeared that the tractor trailer was intentionally used to ram the vehicles as well as cause property damage. 


During this time the driver endangered the safety of persons in the parking lot as well as the driver impacted on the highway.  Further, it was discovered Jimenez-Zarceno does not have a commercial driver’s license.


Based on the investigation conducted by personnel from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Jimenez-Zarceno was placed under arrest and transported to the Humboldt County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of NRS 200.481 Battery with a Deadly Weapon, NRS 206.310 Injury to Property, 484B.653 Reckless Driving (Felony), NRS 200.471, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, NRS 484E.020, Duty to Stop at Scene of Accident, 483.924 Drive Commercial Vehicle without CDL Endorsement, and NRS 483.550 Driving without a Valid Driver’s License with a bail of $21,335.00.
