Long-time Lovelock resident Robert “Pat” Patterson passed away at home on March 31, 2022.
He was nearing his 98th birthday. Pat was a proud WWII Navy veteran who served on LST1028 which was torpedoed in the Battle of Lingayen Gulf in the Philippines.
He then served on the battleship USS Nevada. His early work life included logging and working in the shipyards in Seattle during the beginning of WWII.
After moving to Lovelock, he was a miner and heavy equipment operator, opening the original Eagle Picher Mine outside of Lovelock.
His strong work ethic continued throughout his lifetime; he was the MacGyver of the family with his ability to fix most anything.
He will be greatly missed. Pat is survived by his wife of 66 years Deanna Patterson, daughter-in-law Anna, grandchildren Stacy and Michelle, and nephew Roc, as well as many great grandchildren.
