Obituary: Nancy Kay Bean

Nancy Kay Bean, 63, passed away on April 9, 2022, at her home in Battle Mountain, Nevada.

She was born on October 28, 1958, to Norman and Frieda Whitesel in Tampa, Florida. 

She lived in Rathdrum, Idaho for quite a while. This is where she met the love of her life and husband, Kelvin Bean. 

The two were married on October 9, 1976, they shared 46 years, any memories and 2 children together.  

The family then moved to Nevada, this is where Nancy and Kelvin have resided for 14 years; 4 years in Carlin, Nevada and the last 10 in Battle Mountain, Nevada. 

Nancy was a 4-H leader in Mountain Home, Idaho for the Appaloosa Horse Club. 

She was very intelligent, and horses were her passion, she had a competitive spirit with horses and always strived to be the best. 

She loved helping animals and being around them. She preferred animals over people and had a deep connection with horses, she loved to train horses. 

She enjoyed restoring antique furniture and horse tack. She also loved reading true crime novels. 

She was a strong woman, a loyal wife, she loved her family and friends. 

She loved the Mormon church values and beliefs. Nancy enjoyed going for drives with Kelly, KK, and Candace in the mountains, to explore ghost towns and cemeteries or to just go out and sightsee. 

Nancy is survived by her husband, Kelvin “Kelly” Bean. Her children, Candace Cyr and Kelvin “KK” Bean. Grandchildren; Orion, Alyssa, Caylin, Braedon, Kaeton, Kaitlyn, Kody, and Alex. Great-grandchildren; Josiah, Ayen and Isiah. and her brother, Ronnie Whitesel.
