Rena Sue Wylie Ogburn, 70, passed away surrounded by her family at her home on March 11, 2022.
She was born on April 2, 1951, to Eva and Keneth Wylie in Blythe, California.
Rena earned certifications as an EMT and Firefighter I. She worked as an engineer for the California Department of Forestry.
She dedicated 17 years of service to Lake Tamarisk Volunteer Fire Department in Desert Center, California.
She married Gary V. Ogburn Sr. on July 30, 1966.
The two shared 55 years and 4 children together. The family lived in Desert Center, California from 1983 to 1995. The family then moved to Winnemucca, Nevada in 1995. In Winnemucca, she worked for Walmart for 23 years.
She loved reading, gardening, and baking with her grandbabies.
Rena is survived by her husband, Gary Ogburn Sr., children, Michelle Rainey, Jeanelle Ogburn, Jeanette Katzenmeyer, and Gary Ogburn Jr., grandchildren, Heather, Alexi, Macey, Ayden, Tyson and Eve and great-grandchildren, Scarlette, Karson, and Zoe as well as one brother, Danny Wylie.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:00 am at Sonoma Funeral Home in Winnemucca, NV. Burial at the Winnemucca Cemetery to follow.
