The Battle Mountain High School boys golf team traveled to West Wendover on Thursday, March 17, to open its 2022 campaign.
Although the Longhorns did not place as a team, they are looking to do so in Elko this week.
Brice Domagala led the way for the Longhorns and shot a 97, placing sixth individually. Max Villanueva followed with a 106, Colton Mills at 120 and Spencer Thompson finished with a 134, to give Battle Mountain a team score of 457.
The final player for Battle Mountain was Dalton Shake with a 138.
The coach noted they have a total of five players that show great improvement.
“The Longhorns have a very solid team this year,” said the coach. “All the players continue to improve and each week it seems we have another player stepping up to challenge for the team score. This week we travel to Elko and can’t wait to see the improvement.”
Battle Mountain travels to Elko on Thursday for a tournament hosted by Elko and Spring Creek.
Battle Mountain hosts its tournament on Thursday, March 31.
