Carol Cunningham passed away on February 27, 2022, in Battle Mountain, Nevada at the age of 83. She was born on November 26, 1938, in Arizona to John William and Madeline Johnson.
Carol was raised in Miami, Arizona where she graduated from Miami High School. She married Donald R. Cunningham in 1958, the two shared 3 children, Christine, Diann, and Jay. In 1966, the family moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada. Battle Mountain was where she called home, she loved it here.
She worked at the Battle Mountain Clinic and Battle Mountain General Hospital at the front desk. In the late 70’s, she worked for Lander County School District, she drove the sports bus and was known as “Mrs. C” to many high school kids.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling she spent 14 summers in Alaska, fishing. She enjoyed puzzling and diamond art but most of all she loved taking care of her dog, Bailey.
Carol is survived by her children, Christine (Tom) Kurkowski, Diann (Tony) Serna, and Jay (Ronda) Cunningham. Her grandchildren, Brian (Ashley) Serna, Regina (Cassidy) Serna-Torrence, Teonna (Jasper) Clark, Amberly (Chuck) Witt Kurkowski, Ted (Shannon) Kurkowski Chlandra Kurkoski, Amanda (Joey) Tabet and Heather (Mishell) Alacron and her great-grandchildren, Beverly and Norma Witt Kurkowski, Nevaeh Serna, Ryker Serna-Torrence, Chaysen and Parker Clark, Soffie and Matty Kurkowski and Natalie and Kyle Tabet, Jorden, Jaden and Trenton Serena.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald R Cunningham, her parents, John William Johnson and Madeline Merril Johnson. Her brother, Kent R. Johnson and her sisters, Dixie L. Oldfather and Madeline Freemon.
