Quinton Rex Guilbert passed away on February 11, 2022, at the age of 17 due to complications from Leukemia. He was born on January 29, 2005, in Reno, Nevada to Aaron Guilbert and Sammy Guilbert-Kepler.
Q was born in Reno, Nevada and moved to Winnemucca when he was 2 years old, where he attended school, was involved in sports, and attended the Winnemucca Christian Fellowship Church. He was baptized at First Christian Church in Nampa, Idaho on April 4, 2021. He loved soccer and basketball, his favorite team was the Golden State Warriors, and his favorite player was Kobe Bryant. He loved playing video games with his friends and siblings.
He was loved and admired by many people. His close-knit group of friends were always hanging around the house and was an important part of him healing and still feeling like a kid. It was a blessing to have them in his life. Q had a way of touching everyone in his life, even if you only met once or twice. He always had a smile for you, or a silly comment to make you laugh, even if he was in pain. He will be missed by many.
Quinton is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sammy Guilbert-Kepler and Steve Kepler, his grandparents, Rex and Brenda Naegle and Chuck and Denyse Lizer. His siblings, Lucas Kepler, Mathew Kepler, Nickolas Gleason, Nathan Kepler, Taylor (Gleason) Ruetlinger, Zackary Guilbert, Elizabeth Kepler and Liam Kepler, his niece, Ariana, as well as lots of living aunts, uncles, and cousins spread throughout the United States.
He is preceded in death by his father, D. Aaron Guilbert and we are so thankful he was there to meet him in heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Winnemucca Christian Fellowship, 4380 Grass Valley Rd Winnemucca, NV.
Donations and gifts can be sent to the family’s Cash App - ID# $KGBMomma78. Please label as a gift or donation. Anything is so appreciated by Q’s family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Johnston and Dr. Zucker and the entire Nursing Staff at Renown’s Oncology Department for their selfless efforts in the treatment and care of Quinton during his time there. Because of their efforts our son was able to keep his sense of humor and a positive outlook during treatment.
