John Enrico Quilici passed away on February 20, 2022, at Humboldt General Hospital at the age of 89. He was born on May 30, 1932, in Lovelock, NV to Enrico and Rose Quilici.
John had two sons, Michael and Ronald and one daughter Tanya. He was married to his wonderful wife, Alta for 47 years.
John had a full life. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War for 4 years and an additional 2 years in the reserves. After returning from the service, he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad until he and his brother, “Babe” purchased and ran the Texaco Filling Station. After selling the business, John became a Honda motorcycle mechanic and salesman until getting the opportunity to work for Nevada Bell until his retirement.
John enjoyed all outdoor activities, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler, and water skier, John was never too busy to help his neighbor or friends with any project. He will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Alta Quilici, his children, Michael (Susan) Quilici, and Tanya Quilici. His Grandchildren, Stephen and Joseph Quilici, Gavin and Hunter Quilici, Johnathon Christaphel, and Amanda Shanahan, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as his sister, Ida Cochran and sister-in-law, Judy Quilici.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Enrico and Rose Quilici, his grandparents, his son Ronald Quilici, and his brother, Marcello “Babe” Quilici.
A Funeral Service for John Enrico Quilici will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
