Obituary: Eve M. Prather

Eve M. Prather, 66, born on April 4, 1955, passed away suddenly on January 31, 2022, following a brief illness. 

Eve was born in Colorado and moved to Winnemucca as a young girl. She graduated from Lowry High School. She worked at the Model “T” Truck Stop and Winner’s Gift Shop for many years. 

She loved singing, dancing, crafting, and decorating for every holiday – she loved family get togethers and summer BBQ’s. 

Eve leaves a huge hole in the hearts of family and friends who were always entertained by her hilarious sense of humor – Eve truly brought the life to the party. 

Eve is preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Opal Prather as well as several aunts and uncles and grandparents.

She is survived by her by her brother, Don (Marci) Prather of Winnemucca. Her nieces, Jessica Morris, LouRei Ross of Winnemucca, Jennifer Winkler of Washington, her nephews, Michael Prather of Winnemucca, Gilbert (Amber) Prather, Donny Prather of Montana, and David Prather of Washington. Cousins, Clarice (Chip) Bell, Gilbert Prather of Sparks, NV, Joetta Gray, Shauna Parker of Chico, CA and Donald (Carol) Prather of Madison, WI. 

Eve’s funeral will be held at Sonoma Funeral Home in Winnemucca, NV. Viewing at 10:30 am, Service at 11:00 am with burial to follow at the Winnemucca Cemetery at 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life for Eve will be held at a later date when the days are long, the evening are warm and the BBQ is hot.
