Stoker named to 3A all-state first team and all-North first team

Eight players on the Lowry High School softball team, with sophomore Savannah Stoker collecting first-team, all-state, first-team, Northern 3A and first-team Northern 3A honors.

Stoker led the Lady Bucks with a .529 batting average with 12 home runs and 59 RBI. 

She also scored 48 runs to go with 12 doubles and five triples.

Fernley’s Mackenzie Depaoli was named the Northern 3A Player of the Year.

Joining Stoker on the Northern 3A first team was Madeline Hunden (catcher, Wooster), Lydia Bergman (infield, Churchill County), Brianna Lafontaine (infield, North Valleys), Alyssa Camargo (infield, Sparks), Ciarra Foakes (DP. Wooster), Nadia Velasquez (outfield, Fernley), Kylah Myers (outfield, North Valleys), Candice Kley (outfield, Elko), Vernita Fillmore (pitcher, Churchill County), Brittney Byram (pitcher, North Valleys) and Abegail Byram (utility, North Valleys).

Lowry junior Megan Cook was named to the Northern 3A East first team and the Northern 3A second team. 

She hit .353 with one home run, 33 RBI, 40 runs scored and nine doubles.

The Northern 3A second team included Starr Schennum (catcher, Fernley), Braelyn Birkel (infield, Fernley), Reece Hutchings (infield, Churchill County), Krystyn Noble (infield, Wooster), Elyse McCartney (infield, Truckee), Bryleigh Cervantes (DP, Elko), Khloe Glover (outfield, Wooster), Karli Klein (outfield, North Valleys), Mackenzie Viehland (pitcher, Fernley), Lina Nolasco (pitcher, Sparks) and Haeley Diehl Lea (utility, Fernley).

The all-state Most Valuable Player were Mackenzie Depaoli (Fernley) and Riley Price (Virgin Valley) and the Coach of the Year was Fernley’s Diane Chapin.

The all-state first team included: Madeline Hunter (Wooster), Savannah Stoker (Lowry), Brittney Byram (North Valleys), Vernita Fillmore (Churchill County), Kylah Myers (North Valleys), Braelyn Birkel (Fernley), Reggi Frei (Virgin Valley), Ana Tausinga (Virgin Valley), Natalie Plancarte (Virgin Valley), Paeton Carver (Boulder City), Alyssa Bryant (Boulder City) and Talynn Madrid (Boulder City).

Four Lowry players (Shelbie Hoyt), Bailey Hayes, Kadence Cooney and Cambria Tisue were named to the Northern 3A East all-league second team.

Hoyt, a junior, earned her honors for play at shortstop and hit 3.98 for the Lady Bucks. She had four home runs, 30 RBI, 51 runs scored, 45 hits and 12 doubles.

Hayes, a senior, patrolled left field for Lowry. She batted .380 this season with 42 runs scored, 41 hits, 22 RBI and nine doubles.

Tisue, a sophomore, was selected as a utility player of the all-league team played third base. She had 18 runs scored, 12 hits, 11 RBI and two home runs.

Cooney, a senior pitcher for Lowry, went 11-7 in the circle with 79 strikeouts and 56 walks. She also batted .415 with 34 hits and 31 RBI.

Maddison McClure and Kenzi Dowd-Smith were selected for the Northern 3A East honorable mention team.

McClure, a sophomore catcher, hit .333 this season with 21 hits and 20 RBI.

Dowd-Smith, a senior centerfielder, hit .398 with two home runs, 34 runs scored, 39 hits and 42 RBI.
