Fuller, Jones earn Northern 2A all-league, first-team honors

Battle Mountain’s Marena Fuller and Shea Jones were recently named to the Northern 2A all-league first team for their play this season.

Fuller, the Lady Longhorns’ catcher and a senior, hit .458 this season with one home run, 22 hirs, 21 runs scored and 16 RBI. 

Jones hit .333 for Battle Mountain with 20 runs scored and 13 hits and the junior was 5-5 in the circle his spring with 70 strikeouts and 26 walks.

Yerington’s Hayley Richardson, Piper Davis and Brianna Sanchez were chosen and the Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Catcher of the Year, respectively, in the Northern 2A.

Pershing County’s Taylor Garland was named the Pitcher of the Year and West Wendover’s Olivia Reamer was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining Fuller and Jones on the all-league, first team was Cyanna Rodriguez, West Wendover; Faith Gonzalez, West Wendover; Aubrey Damn, Silver Stage; Hannah Wagner, Silver Stage; Bela Rosas, Pershing County; Anna Happy, Pershing County; Yasmine McKinney, Pershing County; Caitlynn Camerena, Yerington; Amaree Savage, Yerington; Kellcie Hallahan, Yerington and Reegan Santos, Yerington.

Battle Mountain’s Kiana Gonzales and Thalia Gonzalez were named to the Northern 2A second team.

Gonzales, a freshman, hit .239 with 13 runs scored an 11 hits and Gonzalez, also a freshman, batted .312 with 23 runs scored and 15 hits.

Joining them were Destiny Gonzalez, West Wendover; Hailey Holm, West Wendover; Aaliyah Allen, Pershing County; Raegan Burrows, Pershing County; Madyson Grenz, Pershing County; Casey Bobrick, Yerington; Riley Santos, Yerington; Vivianna Sanchez, Yerington and Brynn Torres, Yerington.

Four other Lady Longhorns were named to the honorable mention team. 

That group includes Galileah Benavidez, Liliana Haney, Hailee Anderson and Heidy Amezcua.
