The Battle Mountain Little League and Junior League softball teams will be in Spring Creek this weekend for the Nevada District 3 Tournament.
The Little League squad will play on Saturday against the winner of Ruby Mountain White Pine, who play on Friday 9 p.m. Elko and Walker River play at 7 p.m. on Friday.
If Battle Mountain wins its opening game, they would play the winner of Elko and Walker River on Sunday at 5 p.m. A loss would drop them to the elimination bracket on Sunday at 8 a.m. as well.
All games are being played at Shuckmann’s Sports Complex in Spring Creek.
The Battle Mountain Junior all-stars play Walker River at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The winner plays Elko on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There are just three teams in the tournament that runs through Monday.
In addition, I-80 will be closed in both directions from 7 p.m. June 18 to 6 a.m. June 19.
Make plans to avoid the area at that time.
