Union Township Justice Court

Items in the Court Docket are compiled from public records contained in the Union Township Justice Court and the Sixth Judicial District Court. The Humboldt Sun reports all felony hearings, misdemeanor convictions and dismissals for which the court releases information. When requested by the individual, the Sun will post the person’s mug shot with their court disposition.

On May 18, Juan Carlos Gallarzo pleaded guilty to count 1 – driving under the influence, first offense. The court ruled: sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 stayed for period of one year, stayed jail time on the condition he serve two days and was given credit for one day time served, one day remaining was converted to 24 hours community service, fined $400 + $125AA + $60 forensic fee, DUI School and Victim Impact Panel ordered to be completed, a breath interlock device was ordered for a period of 185 days, with credit for the 185 days. Pursuant to negotiations the additional counts of speeding, eluding public officer and reckless driving were dismissed in open court. Bail is exonerated. 



On May 20, Nerio Osvaldo Ceballos presented a medical marijuana card to the D.A. resulting in charge of possession of marijuana-under 21 to be dismissed. 



On May 20, Marissa Lynn Dick submitted a plea agreement in abstentia for the amended charge of drugs which may not be introduced into interstate commerce. The court ruled: Fine $700 + $140AA defendant was credited for 4 days time served settling the total amount owed. 

On May 24, due to compliance with diversion agreement the charges against Whitney Kelly for child abuse, neglect or endangerment were dismissed. 



On May 24, Mark Leroy Harris pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, first offense and disobedience of traffic control device. The court ruled: count 1 – sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 stayed for a period of one year, stayed jail time on the condition he serve two days, credit for time served of 14 hours and ordered to 64 hours house arrest for remaining time. Fined $400 + $125AA + $60 Forensic Fee paid by cash bail forfeiture, DUI school and victim impact panel ordered to be completed, breath interlock device ordered for a period of 185 days. Count 2 – Fined $100 + $95 AA to be paid by cash bail forfeiture. Review hearing set for Sept. Remaining bail exonerated.



On May 25, Maria Guadalupe Ramirez-Magana pleaded nolo contender to petit larceny. The court ruled: fined $1000 + $140AA. 



On May 31, Jess Manuel Willer pursuant to negotiation pleaded guilty to driving while license is cancelled, suspended or revoked. The court ruled: fined $250 + $105AA, fines and fees converted to jail time and given credit for time served. The additional charges of fictitious plates, operating a motor vehicle without having evidence of current insurance located therein and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed. 



On May 31, due to compliance the citation against Angel Valdez for suspended/revoked plates was dismissed. 



On June 1, Cynthia Denise Vaughan pleaded guilty to driving under the influence-first offense, requirements for turning on highway and vehicle turning left. The court ruled: For first count -sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for period of one year, stayed jail time credited one day time served and ordered 48 hours house arrest. Fined $400 + $125AA + $60 forensic fee, defendant forfeit cash bail to pay for fines. DUI School, victim impact panel were ordered and breath interlock device was ordered for period of 185 days. For second count – fined $50 +$65AA. For third count – fined $25 + $50AA, fines and fees suspended for period of one year with condition that the defendant complies and completes all recommendations from the court and the evaluation. A review hearing is set for September, remaining bail is exonerated. 



On June 1, pursuant to negotiation the charge against James Daniel Doyal for assault was dismissed on the condition he stay away from the victim in the case. Bail is exonerated.
