Georgene (Jean) Murphy Cassinelli, 87, of Paradise Valley passed away on July 1, 2022.
Jean was born May 27, 1935, in Reno, Nevada. She grew up in Reno with her five siblings.
While attending a Junior Aggie Club meeting, as a sophomore in high school, Jean met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Cassinelli.
After graduating from Manogue High School in the spring of 1953, she married Bob on August 29, 1953.
They lived on the family ranch in Sparks, Nevada until 1965 when they purchased the Old Mill Ranch in Paradise Valley, Nevada, where they would embark on a new adventure.
Jean always loved the ranch from the first time she walked on to it. She said it was the perfect place to raise their five children. Jean was a member of the Paradise Valley PTA, the community leader of the Paradise Valley 4-H club for many years, and she was a member of the Cowbelle’s Association. Many will remember Jean from her years working at the Charm House gift shop.
Jean enjoyed baking, painting, working in her yard and volunteering for the Humboldt Hospital Auxiliary working at the Poke N Peek Thrift shop. She had an amazing, kind soul and was loved by all who met her.
In the last few years, she faced many challenges with grace and courage, always being thankful for each day and never giving up.
Her family deeply appreciates the remarkable and compassionate care provided to her by Dr. Tawnya Bowles at the Intermountain Hospital in Salt Lake, and by her amazing nurses, Ashley and Charity, with Genesis Home Health and Hospice care.
