Nina Gowing Aubrey passed away on December 19, 2021 at Pershing General Hospital Long Term Care in Lovelock, Nevada.

Nina, born December 27, 1923, was the sixth child of eleven born to Harlan Earl Gowing and Nellie Ruth Vaughan Gowing in Eugene, Oregon.  She was the first of their children to be born in a hospital.

Nina grew up in Lorraine, Lane County, Oregon on her parents’ farm.  She enjoyed riding horses, tending her little brothers, and gardening with her siblings.

In 1953, Nina married Calvin Aubrey who preceded her in death in 2010.

She is survived by two sisters and a brother, her daughter Barbara Tobin and three granddaughters, Rebekah Rosas, Tara McCrillis (Steve), and Jenifer Singleton (Spencer). Nina was a great grandma to five and a great-great grandma to one.

Nina loved to craft, sew, and paint.

All her grandchildren have quilts that she made.  Nina loved her pets fiercely and was an avid walker well into her 90’s.

She enjoyed rock hunting in her younger years as well as bowling.  She lived in two northern Nevada communities,

Winnemucca and Lovelock, for over fifty years.  Nina will be remembered for her friendly nature and kindness towards people and animals.

Her granddaughters will all cherish their memories of summers spent at her house where they were busy walking, crafting, rock collecting, and being spoiled.
