Richard Dennis Crum, 69, passed away on December 13, 2021, in Winnemucca, NV. He was born on August 6, 1952, in Southern California to Frank and Alice Crum.
He lived in Southern California and many places around Northern Nevada including Battle Mountain, Crescent Valley, Golconda, and Winnemucca.
He married Juanita Kay Cornelius on September 28, 1979. The two shared 42 wonderful years, 3 children, Shawn, Niki together.
Richard worked for Savage Trucking for the last 5 years. He loved his job as a truck driver. He enjoyed playing with his cats, exploring, and living life! Niki stated that, “He was the only dad that Shawn and I ever knew.”
We may not have been his blood, but he loved us as if we were. Alicia sadly passed away 17 years ago; she was his baby girl and missed her dearly.
He loved our mom more than anything! He will be greatly missed by Mom, us kids and everyone that knew him.”
He attended the Grass Valley Baptist Church and was Volunteer Fire Chief in Crescent Valley, NV and Golconda, NV.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Kay Crum, his children, Juanita A. Gates (Niki), and Shawn B. Gates. Grandchildren, Elric A. Gates, Zella K. Ghost, Trance W. Gates, and Tyson Winzel. Great-grandchildren, Iris, Ivy, Ilex and Arioch Gates as well as his brothers, Cook and Norman, sister, Elaine, and Jack (BinL).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alice Crum and his baby girl, Alicia E. Crum.
