Dana Torgerson was born the middle child of five in Ely, Nevada, to Max Hatch Sr. and Bette (Hatch)Clarno.
Our families will miss the quick smile, wit, and loving arms Dana Torgerson gave us for 64 years. She was a spit-fire from the day she was born!
After a few years in Ely, her family moved to Winnemucca where Dana spent her childhood. It was when she was home one summer from college that she met the handsome young man with the green Corvette… the love of her life, Steve Torgerson.
Their love affair lasted over 46 years, raising two children: Cory and Lindsay.
They moved from Idaho to Washington, then to Nevada, back to Washington, and finally settled in Nampa where they started their own HVAC business. Their son and daughter soon moved to this area and started their family. Steve and Dana reveled in being grandparents to Ashlynn, Tyson, Treytin, Olivia, Jack, and Evelyn. Dana loved being a wife and mother, but soon found that being a grandma was the best thing in the world! She loved motorhome trips to family reunions and family camping trips. She made sure there was never a shortage of food, snacks, and games. She also loved to watch BSU and Seahawk football games. Though she didn’t go to live games, she would for sure be cheering at home. Her grandkids were the bright spots in her life especially during her illness.
She loved to hear their stories of school, sports and friends and found great comfort in listening to them read to her.
Dana’s kindness and welcoming smile made any one she met feel at home. She always had dinner and an extra bed waiting for whoever might show up at the door.
Dana will forever have a special place in the hearts of her husband, son, daughter, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
Dana is survived by her son Cory (Stephanie) Torgerson and Lindsay (Nolen) Peterson, Two Sisters, Dianna Byers, Nampa, Idaho and Debra Fennell Reno, Nv, and Two Brothers, Max Hatch Jr. Reno, Nv. and Mike Hatch Reno, Nv. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services for Dana will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa, Idaho, on January 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.
