The Battle Mountain High School wrestling team prepped for the postseason by closing out the Northern 2A Duals this past Friday in Battle Mountain.
Battle Mountain defeated Yerington 54-24, Coral Academy 45-18, Excel Christian 36-9 and Pershing County 36-21 to finish the day 4-0 and 6-0 overall in the duals.
The Longhorns went a combined 52-3 in individual league matches.
“The kids are wrestling well right now,” said BMHS coach Mitch Domagala. “Their intensity is picking up and they are positioning themselves for a good post season.”

Battle Mountain travels to Lovelock on Saturday for the Northern 2A Regional Championships at Pershing County High School.
The top four finishers in each weight class advance to the NIAA 2A State Championships on Saturday, Feb. 19, at The Meadows School.
“These league matches just get us on the bracket for the regional tournament,” Domagala said. “Once that tournament starts records are out the window and you have to beat the guy across from you all over again.”
