Obituary: Damian ‘Goo’ Bonta

Damian passed away on December 12, 2022 at the age of 44 in Carson City Nevada.

He resided with his sister Victoria. Damian is the cherished son of Ronnie Bonta (deceased) and Barbara Happy Bonta.

He was a member of the Reno/Sparks Indian Colony.

Goo grew up in Lovelock Nevada. He attended school in Pershing County.

During his childhood, he enjoyed little league, soccer and boxing for the Lovelock Paiute Tribe.

For a short time, Damian lived in Mesquite Nevada. During his time in Mesquite, he found a passion for running cross-country.

He continued on to win several medals. As an adult, Damian worked various jobs including construction, roofing, and general labor.

In his free time, he enjoyed playing softball with the Weekend Warriors, playing pool, winning horseshoes and spending time with family and friends.

Goo always knew how to make those around him laugh and feel loved. He had a heart of gold; there was nothing that he wouldn’t do for those that he loved.

He took pride in helping everyone, even strangers. He made friends everywhere he went.

We lost an amazing son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend.

Goo is preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Bonta, and brothers Johnny Bonta and Kelly Happy. He has left behind his son Ronnie Ray Bonta (20), his mother Barbara Happy Bonta, his brothers Roger Bonta, Nelson Wade Bonta and Brandon Happy, his sisters Victoria Bonta and Tia Happy, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As his family, we would like to thank everyone for their condolences, donations, thoughts, and prayers.
