In its final games of the calendar year, the Battle Mountain High School girls basketball team collected two wins in three games last weekend at the Comstock Classic in Virginia City.
The Lady Longhorns split a pair of contests on Friday, beating Pahranagat Valley 28-25 and losing 35-29 to Coleville, Calif., 35-29.
Battle Mountain beat host Virginia City 36-22 on Saturday to improve to 5-3 on the season.

In the win over the Panthers, Aylea Ramos had a team-high 11 points, with Christina Holley and Thalia Gonzalez adding eight and six points, respectively. Jolena Ayers had two points and Shea Jones one.
Ramos grabbed five rebounds, Holley had four rebounds and two steals and Olivia Lemaire added two rebounds and two steals, with Bailey Elderkin picking up three rebounds.

Battle Mountain took a 10-6 lead after the first right minutes of play against the reigning 1A state champion.
The Wolves closed the gap to a point at halftime and held the Lady Longhorns to just three points in the third quarter, as the California school pulled away in the second half.
Gonzalez had five steals in the contest, with Holley grabbing four rebounds to go with two steals.

Virginia City 22
Battle Mountain closed the tournament with a 14-point win over the host school. Ramos (8), Holley (7) and Ayers (6) combined for 21 of the Lady Longhorns’ 27 rebounds.
Listee Haney had three steals and Lindsey Bleak, Jones and Gonzalez each had two steals.
Battle Mountain returns to the court on Monday, Jan. 2 and Tuesday, Jan. 3, with road trips to Wells and Eureka.
The Lady Longhorns host Silver State on Jan. 6, at 6 p.m. and Yerington on Jan. 7 at 2 p.m.
