Obituary: Maudy Royal Milton

Maudy Royal Milton peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 24th , 2022,  at home surrounded by family,

Maudy was born on November 10th ,1970 in Las Vegas Nevada. She graduated from Gig Harbor High School in Washington and moved to Susanville California in 1993 where she worked as a receptionist in  the hospital emergency room.

Maudy soon became known to David ,who quickly fell in love  with her and the two were married on September 17th 1994.

Maudy and David moved to Winnemucca in January of 1995 where Maudy worked several jobs in the medical field , primarily as “one of the best phlebotomists “ around. Maudy was devoted and faithful to all that she did and was detail oriented.

Her most important possession was her relationship with Jesus, and what flowed from that was her love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness , faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

Maudy through those gifts quietly led David ,with the help of many others, through prayers and examples,  to a saving relationship with Jesus.

Maudy and David were blessed with the birth of  Stuart and Jennifer on March 8th, 2001.

Maudy was a loving mother and always available for an encouraging chat or just a snuggle with her children .

Maudy and David began serving with Samaritan’s Purse together in 2018 at the Paradise and Carr fires.

They both agreed that this is where God had called them to serve after retirement.  In May of 2020, the couple were approved as Chaplains for  the Billy Graham  Rapid Response Team  for disasters.

In September 2020, after David retired,  the couple served as Chaplains in Santa Cruz.

From there they traveled to Louisiana for approximately 6 months for hurricane and flood relief work.

Their last deployment together with Samaritan’s Purse was for the Dixie and Caldor fires in October of 2021.

Maudy was diagnosed with cancer soon after returning home from serving and touching the lives of many wonderful people through the love of Jesus.

The outpouring of prayers and support from  everyone was evidence of the love she had for so many. God has certainly blessed us all . Maudy was greeted by her Lord and Savior with those words we all long to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant...” Matthew  25:21

Maudy is survived by her grateful husband David of 28 years, loving daughter and son, Jennifer and Stuart Milton,  mother Gretel, sister Donna Fritts, brother Jeffrey  (Shauna) Tuttle, sister Johanna Weber, sister Patty (Fred) Best , sister Elsa Schmidt, brother in law Dale (Suzanne) Milton, sister in law Melissa (Ron) Crum, step brother in law Douglas (Sabrina) McMahon, step sister in law  Ginger Nelson, mother/father in law Catherine and John McMahon, father in law Fred Milton,  along with several nephews, nieces,  cousins , aunts and uncles.

Maudy’s prayers and hope was that all who she met would come to the  knowledge of Jesus Christ through the  saving grace of our Heavenly Father, so that she would one day be reunited with them for Eternity.

A Celebration of Maudy’s life will be held at Winnemucca Christian Fellowship , 4380 Grass Valley Road on December 10th, 2022 at 10a.m. with a potluck and fellowship gathering to follow at the same location.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial/ donation page in honor of Maudy will be available @ samaritanspurse.org.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. “ Matthew 5:16

Grace and Peace to you all in the Name of Jesus. Amen
