Inger Marie Casey passed away peacefully August 19th, 2022 due to complications from cancer at Humboldt General Hospital’s Harmony Manor in Winnemucca.
She was born February 24, 1941, in Reno, Nevada. She attended First through Fourth Grades at Glendale School in Reno, NV.
From there she attended Fifth through Seventh Grades at B.D. Billinghurst in Reno and Grade 8 through high school in Fallon, Nevada.
While in high school, Inger was a trick rider with her sisters. Inger married Bill Casey January 9, 1960. Bill & Inger’s ranching career started at Bench Creek, Nevada, next on to Moore Station, out of Tonopah, closer to Warm Springs.
Then they moved on to Cherry Creek, which was out of Warm Springs also, then on to Winnemucca.
Inger loved her family. She loved team penning, swimming, knitting, horses and the life of a rancher.
Over the years in Winnemucca, she won several ribbons for her knitting (sweaters) and cross stitch at the local fair.
She loved playing cards with family and friends. At Christmas time she was famous for her candy, fudge, and fruit cakes.
She is survived by her sisters Barbara and Mary Ann, and brother, Ott. All have several family members.
She is also survived by James Anderson and family. Inger also has some cousins still living. She was preceded in death by her niece, Lori Blair, her mother, Helen Hansen, and her father, Hank Henry Hansen, and by her husband Bill Casey.
We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Harmony Manor for the great treatment they gave to our sister Inger. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations be made to The Harmony House.
The family will hold a service for Inger at a later date.
