Union Township Justice Court
On July 21, Monica Jo Gonzalez pleaded guilty to an amended criminal complaint from the original driving under the influence first offense and open container. The court ruled: fined $500 + $140 AA, credit for one day time served and the remaining $490 is to be paid in full. The court ordered to attend DUI school and victim impact panel course – the defendant presented certificate of completion of both courses which the court accepted.
On July 21, Karlton Peterson pleaded no contest to an amended criminal complaint from obstructing public officer. The court ruled: fined $1,000 + $140AA converted to jail time and given credit for time served.
On July 21, the charges against Daniel G. Mendez for stop required upon signal of peace officer and abuse, neglect or endangerment of child were dismissed without prejudice.
On July 21, pursuant to negotiation on associated case the charge against Jose De Jesus Urtiz-Romero for possession of a controlled substance was dismissed. On a separate chase Uritz-Romero pleaded guilty to an amended criminal complaint from violation of temporary or extended restraining order issued pursuant to the provision of NRS 33.017 ET.SEQ. The court ruled based on a joint recommendation of 6 months jail per charge to run consecutive of each other totaling 12 months of jail time, suspended for a period of two years with the condition of no new like violations.
On July 25, pursuant to negotiation the charge against Nick John Perlegos was amended from basic speed 1-10 over limit to rural speed with the fine amount to remain the same.
On July 26, due to compliance the D.A. dismissed the charge of drive without valid drivers license against Jefree Jose Verazelada. Verazelada agreed to pay full fine for basic speeding violation 1-10 MPH over posted limit totaling $115.
On July 26, pursuant to negotiation the D.A. reduced the total fine amount for possession of drug paraphernalia against Ever Eduardo Cruz Ramirez to $305.
On July 26, Kirkland Thomas Fortin pleaded not contest to fail to drive on right half of highway. The court ruled: Fined $50 + $65AA. Due to unavailability of the witness the first charge of driving under the influence 1st offense was dismissed, however the court ordered Fortin to attend DUI School and victim impact panel.
On July 27, due to compliance the charge against Lonnie Anderson of suspended license plates was dismissed.
On July 27, due to compliance of the deferred prosecution agreement the D.A. dismissed the charge against Lance Allen Dove of reckless/drag racing.
On July 27, pursuant to negotiation the charge of driving with revoked license against Alexander Marco Padilla was amended to driving without valid license and Padilla entered a guilty plea. The court ruled: Fined $100 + $95AA + $200 warrant fee, fines and fees converted to jail time and given credit for time served. Pursuant to negotiation the D.A. dismissed the charges of operating unregistered vehicle and no proof of insurance.
On Aug. 2, the county amended the charge against Kenneth Wayne Miller to rural speed with a fine of $195.
On Aug. 2, pursuant to negotiation Tony Raymond Rose will pay the fine in full for basic speeding violation – 1-10 MPH over posted limit. Due to negotiation the second charge of over take on left side or making left turn in prohibited zone was dismissed.
On Aug. 2, Bruce Rodriguez was sentenced for resisting a public officer. The court ruled: Fine $1000 + $140 AA.
