Battle Mountain’s Nevaeh Serna swam for the Battle Mountain NNA Swim team at the 2022 Pacific Swimming Far Western Championships this past weekend in Morgan Hill, Calif. She was the only NNA swimmer to qualify for the Far Western Championships.
She competed in the 10 and under division and was 10th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 12.72 seconds. That was an improvement of 1.81 seconds off her previous best time.
Serna was 20th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:04.97, taking off 2.59 seconds. She finished 23rd in the 50-yard backstroke (35.11) and 27th in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:25.88.
She will be back in the pool on April 23 and then the NNA swim team takes a four-week break.
