No Friday night is complete without the PCHS spirit squad, coached by Cece Thornhill.

“This year I have a few new girls who have never cheered with me before,” she said. “It’s neat seeing Brooklyn (Mitchell), Brianna (Wilcox) and Kyria (Angel) become part of the team.”

Thornhill usually picks a couple of seniors to lead the girls. However, this year’s squad consists solely of a freshman, sophomores and juniors.

Wilcox is a freshman. Kaylah Hanley and Jena Pilon are returning sophomores. Marya Burke, Lupita Lopez, Mitchell and Angel are juniors.

“It was hard to pick my captain and co-captain but with no seniors we left it up to the girls,” said Hanley. They chose Lupita Lopez and Kaylah Hanley as captain and co-captain.

“The squad did an amazing on Friday and I’m proud of them. They showed me how much Mustang pride they have,” said Hanley.
