Lowry boys drop four games at Spring Creek tourney

Coming off a shortened spring season from just a few months ago, the Lowry High School boys soccer team was back on the field this past weekend at Spring High School for the Spring Creek Tournament.

The Buckaroos saw a pair of Northern 3A East rivals, as well as pair of 5A schools during the weekend.

Lowry went 0-4 on the weekend, losing 4-1 to Elko and 3-2 to Spring Creek. 

The Buckaroos took on Shadow Ridge, a 5A school from Las Vegas, and was defeated 5-1. 

Lowry took on Sparks, the reigning Northern 5A champion, and lost 2-1.

Lowry returns to the field on Friday, with a road trip to South Tahoe and at 4:45 p.m. start with the Vikings. 

The Buckaroos travel to Minden on Friday to play Douglas at 11:45 a.m.

Lowry makes its home debut on Friday, Sept. 10, against Truckee at 4:45 p.m. and the Buckaroos host Reno on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11:45 a.m.

The Lowry JV boys soccer team traveled to Lovelock this past weekend for the Pershing County tournament. The Buckaroos lost to North Tahoe 5-1, 2-1 and 4-0 and 3-1 to West Wendover.

 

Lowry JV girls 

win twice

The Lowry JV girls soccer team won twice in Lovelock, beating Battle Mountain 7-0 and White Pine 5-4.
