Lady Longhorns split matches with Mustangs, Falcons

The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team wrapped up its final regular season road trip of the season this past weekend.

Battle Mountain was in Lovelock on Friday to take on rival Pershing County.

The Mustangs dominated the first set 25-4 and won the final two sets 25-15 and 25-13 to complete the season-sweep of the Lady Longhorns.

Battle Mountain made its way to Reno on Saturday and bounced back to beat Coral Academy to stand at 5-7 in the Northern 2A.

Battle Mountain closes out the regular season at home on Thursday against West Wendover at 5 p.m.

Incline leads the Northern 2A at 11-0, followed by Yerington at 10-2, Pershing County (8-3) North Tahoe (5-5), Battle Mountain (5-7) and West Wendover at 3-8.

 The top six teams advance to the regional championships that will be held in Battle Mountain on Nov. 5-6,

The top two teams receive first-round byes.

The No. 4 seed will play the No. 5 seed and the No. 3 seed will take on the No. 6 seed on Friday, Nov. 5.

The semifinals and championship are set for Saturday, Nov. 6.
