The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team headed out on the road last week for matches at Silver Stage and Yerington.
The Lady Longhorns knocked off the Nighthawks 25-21, 25-12 and 25-22 on Friday evening, but lost to the Lions on Saturday afternoon.
Christina Holley had 12 kills on the day, with Brynnlee Freeman adding nine. Holley also had a block in the victory.
Shea Jones and Yezel Guizar had three and two kills, respectively.
The Lady Longhorns collected 15 aces on the night, with Jones notching nine of those. Lilliana Haney had three aces.
Marena Fuller had a team-high 19 assists.
BMHS falls
to Yerington
Yerington won the first set on Saturday 25-14, only to see Battle Mountain come back to tie the match at 1-1, winning set two 26-24.
In a close third set, Yerington held on for a 25-23 win and the Lions closed out the match, winning set four 25-17.
Freeman and Holley each had eight kills for Battle Mountain had Lauryn Avey and Guizar each had four kills.
Jones had six of the Lady Longhorns' 10 aces and Holley had two blocks.
Battle Mountain back on its home floor this weekend to host Incline on Friday at 5 p.m. and North Tahoe on Saturday at noon.
The Lady Longhorns travel to Lovelock on Friday, Oct. 22, to play Pershing County at 5 p.m.
