In loving memory of Pete Cassinelli our beloved husband, father, papa, son and brother.
Pete passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, he was 64 years old.
In 1963, Pete’s mother and father moved the family from Sparks, Nevada to Paradise Valley, after purchasing the Old Mill Ranch.
This is where Pete spent his younger years growing up and working on the family ranch.
In 1990 Pete went to work for Simplot Soil Builders.
Pete was an honest and sincere man who took great pride in all he did. Pete earned the Maxx Yield award for the lower Snake River region multiple times.
Pete was always willing to help; he would take calls after work hours and even on the weekends. At times it seemed the phone was permanently attached to his ear.
He was very strong willed when it came to farming. He always wanted what was best for his customers and was very loyal to them.
Pete married Bonnie on February 6, 2004. Pete was Bonnie’s best friend and together they enjoyed working on their farm. Pete was very proud of his hay crop and spent endless hours making sure it was just right.
His hay crop was getting to be known all around by hay buyers.
In Pete and Bonnie’s spare time they enjoyed going camping and attending barrel races where Pete became the ultimate and highly sought after arena preparer. Pete had perfected it to the point where some participants would actually ask if he was going to be the arena preparer before committing to compete.
Pete was preceded in death by his father Robert (Bob) Cassinelli.
Surviving are his wife Bonnie of 17 years, daughter Alicia Cassinelli (Chris), son Nick Cassinelli (Hannah and Max), stepson Zachary Sherburn (Jess, Jonny, Jase, Charleigh & Jack), stepdaughter Cami Sherburn (Ben, Tessa & Emitt), and stepdaughter Sierra Sherburn, mother, Jean Cassinelli, brothers Dan (Anita) Cassinelli, Bob Cassinelli, Don (Sandy) Cassinelli and sister, Kathy (Jeff) Brumm and numerous nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Winnemucca Convention Center, east hall, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humboldt County 4-H Club at 1085 Fairgrounds Road, Winnemucca, Nevada 89445.
