Mary Edith Mogus passed away peacefully at Humboldt General Hospital on September 28, 2021.
She was born on March 4, 1944, in Mendota, CA. Mary was raised in the state of California with her mother Bernon, Father Charles and Siblings Eddie, Linda, Danny, and Peggy.
She married John Johnson on June 25, 1959, in Garberville, CA and soon after started their family. They had their sons Michael, John, and Timothy.
Years later, Mary married Herbert Smith on December 11, 1971, in Englewood, CO and had their daughter, Traci (Smith) Hanninen together in this marriage she gained two stepdaughters, Robyn Seller and Michelle Goodwin.
They moved to Winnemucca, NV in 1975 and later purchased Roy’s Glass Shop in 1984 in which they operated for several years. Mary met Maximillian Mogus in Montana and the two soon married on August 17, 2009, in Carlin, NV.
In this marriage, she gained two more stepdaughters, Gerri Barsanti and Cathy Wood.
Mary was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was loved by all.
She loved to attend family functions and be around her family and friends and always made sure to call her loved ones often.
She loved to bake, especially during holidays and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren every chance she had. She had a large chicken knick-knack collection and kept her house in pristine condition. She loved her dog and companion, Buddy.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bernon Dixon, her son, John Johnson, her late husband, Max Mogus, and many other family members.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Lori) Johnson, Tim Johnson, Traci (Justin) Hanninen. Her siblings, Eddie Dixon, Linda Frost, Danny Dixon, and Peggy Elliott. Her grandchildren, Sarah Johnson, Katie Johnson, Sabrina (Cameron) Johnson, Marissa (Greg) Gorski, Mariah (Michael) LeFever, Matthew Hanninen, Zane Burgess and Gage Burgess and many great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.
