Obituary: Judith Yvonne Pritchett

Judith Yvonne Pritchett, 84, of Battle Mountain, Nevada, passed away peacefully August 24, 2021.  Judi was born in Fresno, California, on August 31, 1936, to Ed and Alma (Guffey) Henske.

She grew up in San Joaquin, California, with her parents, her sisters and extended family.  Over the years she worked as a waitress, upholsterer, and prosthetist.

She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Audubon Society and the Red Hat Society.

Judi’s hobbies included family history, bird watching, hunting, fishing and oil painting.  She was an excellent shot and loved showing visitors her pronghorn hanging in the den.

Judi was a great fisherwoman; she could tell more fishing stories than her Daddy or sisters!  Judi discovered oil painting in the 1960’s.  She was a natural born artist and extremely talented. She won many first place ribbons at the county fairs.

Judi loved painting pictures for her family and friends.  We will treasure her art for decades to come.  Judi will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Judi was preceded in death by her husband Ron Pritchett, her parents, sisters Joan Peterson and Janice Enos.

She is survived by daughters Dianne Kimbler and husband Dean (Gilroy, CA), Joanne Silveira (Clovis, CA), son Robert Newman and wife Melody (Chula Vista, CA); 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren; her beloved dog Stubby; and many friends in Battle Mountain.

The family thanks close friends Laura and John, nurses Carrie and Sandy, healthcare aide Reed, and physical therapist Aaron for all of their help over the course of her illness.

At Judi’s request, funeral services were not held.  Honoring her memory, donations may be made to the American Wild Horse Campaign (AWHC) at www.american wildhorsecampaign.org or to the ASPCA at http://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial
