Michael F. Chadwell, 68, of Winnemucca, NV passed away on September 16, 2021, in Reno, NV at Renown.
He was born July 31, 1953, in Crescent City, California.
Michael was in the Army from 1973 to 1976 as an ES Scout Squad Leader.
Most of his career was spent in mining as a process foreman for Newmont, then became an advanced EMT, which he loved the most.
Michael ran on the ambulance with several counties including Winnemucca, McDermitt, and Battle Mountain.
He loved hunting with his brother-in-law, Charles and fishing with Rick Bell and Rick Harrison.
He was an avid outdoorsman, when he wasn’t hunting or fishing you could find him out on the water boating with his grandchildren or golfing with his son, Matthew.
He was a kind man with a light-hearted, gentle soul who passionately cared for people and dedicated his life to care for others in their time of need as an EMT. He liked to crack jokes and make people laugh and feel loved.
Michael is survived by his wife, Tyria. Brother Gerald (Jody) Chadwell. 5 children, Tammy (John) Loonam, Krystal (Phil) Brown, Master Chief Petty Officer Michael (Sarah) Chadwell, Stephanie (Mikka) Garrison, and Matthew (Jennifer) Chadwell. 13 grandchildren, Logen, Annie, Jacob, Calvin, Junior, Reagan, Amelia, Olivia, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Gabriel, Nicholas, and Ethan. Nieces, Jeri, Jullia and Michelle, Brother-in-law, Charles and his best friends, Rick Harrison and Rick Bell.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Althea and LaRoy Chadwell and his brothers, Don and Terry.
The family would like to thank Humboldt General Hospital, AirOne Crew, the care team at Renown, the mine rescue team at Phoenix Mine and the Lander County Ambulance Crew.
There will be a procession from Reno to Winnemucca to bring Michael home on October 1, 2021.
The procession will proceed through town on Winnemucca Blvd and end at Vesco Park across from the Ambulance Barn.
There will be a 21 Gun Salute and Taps played at 3:45 pm. A Memorial Potluck will follow at 4:00pm in the Comstock Room at the Winnemucca Convention Center.
