The Battle Mountain NNA swim team recently competed at the Molly Lahlum Memorial Freeze.
Daxon Bakker placed first in the 8 and under 25-yard backstroke in a time of 22.02 seconds and he took the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle at 42.64. He also won the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 51.01. Bakker was second in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:40.04 and he placed fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke (1:04.61), a 1.07-second improvement.
Bakker finished third in the 25-yard backstroke at 18:46, was fourth in the 100-yard individual medley (2:00.55) and fifth in the 25-yard breaststroke (27:20).
Saige Bakker took nearly 12 seconds off in the girls 8 and under 100-yard freestyle to finish fourth in a time of 1:55.40 and she was also fourth in the 25-yard backstroke at 22.93, a 2.50 second improvement. Bakker sliced off 3.50 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to place sixth with a time of 51.61 and she was sixth in the 25-yard butterfly at 30.65.
Bakker placed fourth in the 25-yard freestyle (20.69), a 2.69-second improvement and fourth in the 50-yard backstroke at 58.94.
Zayne Hall finished fifth in the boys 13-14-year-old 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:21.00 and he was sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.30) and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (26.41). Hall placed seventh in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:35.23 and ninth in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:37.41.
Hall finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:11.11, sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (26.41), ninth I the 200-yard individual medley (2:37.41) and 12th in the 20-yard freestyle (2:29.53).
Nevaeh Serna picked up a number of wins at the meet in the girls 9-10-yaer-old division, including the 100-yard individual medley in a time of 1:25.44, a 3.60 second improvement. She won the 100-yard backstroke at 1:23.62 and the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 34.40.
She held the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:36.42, the 200-yard freestyle (2L42.88), a 1.93 second improvement and the 50-yard butterfly at 41.19. Serna won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 41.19 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:18.88.
Serna was the runner-up in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 44.54 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:43.10, a nearly four-second improvement. She was second in the 50-yard backstroke at 40.08.
