McDermitt volleyball team knocked off by Owyhee in regional tournament

The McDermitt High School volleyball team was in Elko this past Saturday for the Northern 1A East Regional Championships.

McDermitt took on No. 3 seed Owyhee and was defeated in three sets 25-10, 25-14 and 25-13 and saw its season come to an end.

Owyhee went on to reach the title match after beating No. 2 seed Wells in three sets 25-21, 25-13 and 25-21.

On the other side of the bracket, Jackpot defeated Carlin in the opening round 25-16, 25-13 and 25-19. Eureka then beat Jackpot 26-16, 25-13 and 25-19 to reach the regional final.

Eureka knocked off Owyhee 25-21, 25-12 and 25-20 to win the regional championships. Both teams advance to the state championships this weekend at Hug High School in Reno.
