The Lowry High School girls soccer team completed its season last week with a pair of matches against Elko County foes.
Lowry hosted Northern 3A East regular season East champion Spring Creek on Tuesday, Oct. 26, with Spring Creek winning 5-1.
The Spartans jumped on the board in the 24th minute, as Jacey Lindquist got through the Lowry defense and got off a shot from close range for the 1-0 lead. Spring Creek added to its lead in the 33rd minute on a penalty kick by Shyann Lamb.
On the play leading to the penalty kick, the Lady Bucks were whistled for a foul in the box, as the two players battled shoulder to shoulder and without little contact.
The Spartans scored their third goal in a nine-minute span as Megan Borresch scored in the 33rd minute to give Spring Creek a 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Lowry cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 51st minute, as Britain Backus crossed a pass to her older sister, Emily, who put in the back of the net.
In the 73rd minute, Avery Beatty scored to give the Spartans a 4-1 lead and two minutes later, Abigail Waldron closed out the scoring.
