Ruth Lucinda “Cindy” Abrego of Winnemucca, NV passed away on May 15, 2021 surrounded by her family. Cindy was born on August 17, 1952 in Grass Valley, CA to Lloyd Clarence and Ruth Evans.
Her family moved to Winnemucca in 1957, where she remained until her passing. Cindy attended Humboldt County schools and graduated from Albert M. Lowry High School in 1970.
Cindy married Ray Abrego Sr on October 17, 1969. They had 3 children.
Cindy had the opportunity to work in the food service industry, educating special needs students and retail before her retirement in August of 2020.
She is survived by her husband, Ray. Children, Katherine Rae (Calvin) Wolfsteller, Kimberly Kae (Will) Hiibel and Ray Abrego Jr.
Her six grandchildren, Logan Raye Wolfsteller, Makayla Rae (Zach) Printz, Constance Mae Hiibel, Christian Dale Hiibel, Raymundo Abrego III and Peyton Michael Abrego.
Her siblings, Lloyd (Shirley) Evans and Kathy (Dave) Gourley and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Clarence Evans and Ruth Evans, and her brother, John Michael Evans Sr.
A Celebration of Life for Ruth “Cindy” Abrego will be held at a later date.

A very big thanks to the HCSO dispatchers, HGH EMS, WPD Officer King, ER Physician Stirling, ER Nurse Jeff Michel, admitting Physician Musick, Nurse Holly, Nurse Lindsey and all the other HGH staff for the great care and help with Cindy during this difficult process and time. As well as Sonoma Funeral Home for all the guidance and compassion they have shown us.
