Lowry track and field team ends regular season at Fernley tri-meet

The Lowry High School track and field team wrapped up its regular season with a tri-meet in Fernley last Saturday that also included Elko.

The Lady Bucks Hannah Whitted won the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 10 inches, while teammate Kenzi Petersen was second at 4-8.

Madison Duvall claimed the top spot in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 12-9.75 and the sophomore was 10th in the 100-meter dash at 15.13 seconds.

Valeria Valdez won the shot put at 23 feet, a personal best and she was 12th in the discus at 57-5, another personal best. 

Emily Shoenecker was second in the discus with a toss of 71-1 and Saree Millikan was fifth in the event at 64-6.

Mia Hernandez (14.29) and Ellanora Petersen (14.70) set personal bests in the 100-meter dash and Isabella Bartell (19-2) and Jaden Ham (18-7) were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the shot put.

Cali Keith placed third in the long jump with a mark of 11-6.50 and Ashley Rookstool (10-9.25) and Jaycee Harber (10-9) were fifth and sixth in the long jump. 

On the boys side Iysis Arriola won the triple jump with a leap of 37-4 and the junior was sixth in the 100-meter dash at 12.44.  Gunner Bradley won the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-6, while teammates Jesse Jeronimo (4-8) and Mason Rickard (4-5) were third and fifth in the high jump.

Tyler Morrison (5:13.64), Jeremy Walker (5:15.77), Ivan Lara (5:27.05), Angel Huerta (5:30.77), Austin Formby (5:36.17) and Erick Prado (6:57.65) were second, third, fourth, fifth, eighth and 13th in the 1,600 meters.

Lorsix Silva placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 11-9 and was 16th in the shot put at 26-10, which was a personal-best throw.

 Nomar Aguirre placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 33-5 and Ryan Arrien was eight at 31-6.

The 4x800 relay of Morrison, Lara, Huerta, Walker were second with a time of 9:25.52.

Lowry travels to Fallon on Friday for the Northern 3A East Regional Championships.
