McDermitt track and field competes in Battle Mountain

The McDermitt High School track and field team was in Battle Mountain this past Friday for the Battle Mountain Invitational.

Braeden Ramsey set a personal best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.63 seconds and the junior ran the 800 meters in 2:42.5. 

Fellow junior Lane Barrett ran the 100-meter dash at 14.91 and the 200 meters in a time of 34.65.

Jason Villalobos stopped the watch at 2:53.4 in the 800 meters and Tristan Bitt had a time of 2:57 in the 800 meters. Enrique Villalobos threw the discus 82-2 and Tristan Bitt had a distance of 65-9 in the discus.

The boys 4x100 relay of Ramsey, Villalobos, Lane Barrett and Bitt had a time of 57.46.

On the girls side, Cayla Crutcher set a personal best in the shot put with a toss of 28-8.25 and another personal best in the discus at 71-2. Takayla Antonio had a throw of 26-0.25 in the shot put and 66-7 in the discus, which was a personal best. Nicolette Northrup threw the shot put 23-7 for a personal best and the discus 57-2 for another personal best.

McDermitt travels to Eureka on Friday and will be in Elko on Friday, May 21, for the Northern 1A East Regional Championship.
