The McDermitt High School track and field team was in Elko this past Friday for the Ward Coates Invite.
McDermitt senior Takayla Antonio was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 26 feet, 3 inches. In addition, she threw the discus 50-6.5. Sophomore Cayla Crutcher was 11th in the shot put at 25-2.5 and 18th in the discus (62-5. Freshman Nicolette Northrup placed 14th in the shot put with a toss of 23-4 and she was 23rd in the discus at 44-1.
On the boys side, Braeden Ramsey was sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 51.78 seconds. Teammate and fellow junior, Tristan Bitt finished ninth in the 800 meters at 3:02.78.
Bitt placed 18th in the discus with a throw of 64-0. Enrique Villalobos was seventh in the shot put at 32-1 and 10th in the discus (84-8).
Jason Villalobos finished 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 3:05.78 and Lane Barrett was 14th in the 200 meters (31.47) and 21st in the 100-meter dash at 14.88.
McDermitt travels to Battle Mountain on Friday.
