The Lowry High School track and field team came away with five first-place finishes at its home meet that took place this past Saturday. Spring Creek and Churchill County also made the trip to Winnemucca.
Jovi Kuskie led the way in the 1,600 meters, as the junior bested the rest of the field with a time of 5 minutes, 39.18 seconds. She was third in the 300-meter hurdles at 50.46.
Lucy Dangel, Ashley Rookstool and Mia Hernandez tied for second in the pole vault, each clearing the bar at 6-6. Dangel added a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 13-4.
Hernandez was fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 30.89 and ninth in the high jump at 4-2.
Hannah Whitted was the runner-up in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 5-4. The junior was third in the 100 meter-dash at 14.62 and fourth in the 200 meters at 30.89.
McKenzi Petersen was fourth in the high jump with a mark of 4-10 and Ellanora Petersen placed fourth in the 100 meters in a time of 15.07and fifth in the long jump at 13-4.
Lesley Martinez collected two second-place finishes in the throwing events. The senior threw the discus 87-10 and the shot put 26-5.
Saree Millikan was third in the discus (71-3) and fourth in the shot put (24-5), while Emily Schoenecker was fourth in the discus at 70-0 for a personal best. She was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 23-6, another personal best.
Valeria Valdez was seventh in the discus and eighth in the shot put, Lilly Thomas and Isabella Bartell tied for 10th in the shot put and Jayden Ham was 10th in the shot put and 12th in the discus.
Madison Duvall placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.13 and the sophomore was eighth in the long jump (12-6) and Jaycee Harber was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (26.48) and eighth in the 100-meter dash at 17.40.
Calli Keith was 10th in the high jump and 10th in the long jump at 11-10.
Spring Creek won the team title with 282 points, Lowry (154) was second and Churchill County (94) was third.
On the boys side, Scott Brown and Shaun Gilliland tied for first in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 9-6.
Teammates Kaid Sanchez and Tyler Carpenter tied for fourth at 4-0. Brown added an eighth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5-2.
Iysis Arriola won the long jump with a personal-best mark of 18-9, while the junior set a personal best of 38-1.50 in the triple jump to place third.
Arriola was eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.82.
Tyler Morrison took home the top spot in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.61, while teammate Jeremy Walker was second in the race at 2:25.26 and Angel Huerta was fourth in the 800 meters at 2:32.92 and freshman Austin Formby was eighth at 2:39.49.
Morrison was fourth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 12:10.06.
Jesse Jeronimo was the runner-up in the discus with a throw of 104-2 for a personal best and the freshman was 10th in the high jump at 4-8.
Tyson Terry turned in two third place finishes in the shot put (30-11) and discus (99-6), while Julian Aguirre was fourth in the discus (82-1) and seventh in the shot put with a toss of 30-2.
Huerta was seventh in the 3,200 meters and ninth in the 1,600 meters, while Ivan Lara (5:15.35) was fourth in the 1,600 meters and fifth in the 3,200 meters (12:21.31). Eduardo Martinez-Calderon was third in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:58.88 and he was 10th in the 1,600 meters.
Braden Hammargren placed fifth in the 200 meters (26.83) and ninth in the 100-meter dash (12.95) and Troy Manske was seventh in the 200 meters.
Erik Prado placed eighth in the 1,600 meters and Dominic Jensen and Frank Davis were eighth and ninth, respectively, in the long jump. Davis and Jensen were seventh and eighth in the triple jump.
Spring Creek won the team crown with 258.7 points, followed by Churchill County (129.2) and Lowry (117.1)
Lowry travels to Fallon on Saturday.
