It appears the 3A East boys championship this year is a toss up between the six schools every week.
After winning in Fallon, the Lowry High School boys placed fourth this past Thursday at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline.
Beautiful weather greeted the golfers on one of the best courses in Nevada.
Fernley shot the best score in the 3A East this year with a 252 to win the tournament.
Elko was not far behind in second at 365. Spring Creek (393) was third, followed by Lowry (394), Churchill County (413) and Dayton (416).
Fernley’s Isaac O’Neill was the low medalist with a round of 79, while Elko’s Kaden Konakis was second at 80. Dayton’s Andrew Smith (84), Fernley’s Jacob Homes (86) and Spring Creek’s Kevin Thompson (87) rounded out the top five.
Cal Peters led the Buckaroos with a round of 98 and freshman Landon Esquivel shot 99. Hunter Smith came to the clubhouse with a 100 and Hector Rivera had the final kept score at 107.
Coda Nichols, playing, in his first tournament of the year carded a 113.
Peters is currently sixth in the season-long individual points standings and Esquivel is eighth.
Lowry traveled to Fernley on Tuesday and results were not available at press time.
The Buckaroos host the 3A East on Tuesday, May 11, at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.
Fernley leads the season-long points standings with 11 points.
Lowry is second with nine points and Elko and Spring Creek are ties for third with eight points apiece. Fallon (4) is fifth and Dayton (6) is sixth.
