Obituary: Ruby Earlene Dexter

Ruby Earlene Dexter, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, joined her loved 

ones in Heaven on March 10, 2021. 

She left an everlasting mark on the world, always spreading kindness and humor with her one of a kind smile. 

Earlene never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed meeting new people. 

Born August 5, 1932 in Delta Colo. to Graton and Mary Eason, Earlene was the eldest of six children. 

The family, including her brothers Grant, Don, and Bob and her sisters Jeanne and JoAnn eventually settled in Wilder, Idaho where she graduated from Wilder High School in 1950. 

In 1951, she married the love of her life, Leland Wayne Dexter. Together, Earlene and Lee had three beautiful daughters, Mary Anne, 

Ruth, and Rebecca. 

After her sister Jeanne passed away, she and Lee raised her daughters, Tammy and Kim, as their own. Earlene and Lee also helped raise her nieces Leesa, Laura, Cassie, and Debbie. 

Earlene worked many years in the banking industry. 

She spent the later part of her life in Crescent 

Valley, Nev. and Winnemucca, Nev. working for NA Degerstrom. 

She enjoyed her career in office  

management and made many friends along the way. 

She loved to bowl and competed on many leagues, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and gardening.

 Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. 

Earlene is survived by daughters Mary Anne Muniz, Rebecca Davis, Tammy Zahradnicek, and Kim 

Harwood; brothers Grant Eason (Donna), Don Eason (Sam), and Bob Eason (Colleen), and many 

grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents 

Graton and Mary Eason, sisters Jeanne Eason and JoAnn Sappington (Don), husband Leland Dexter, 

daughter Ruth Bicandi (Pat) and grandsons Richard Davis, Nathan Muniz, and Scott Zamora. 

Earlene was passionate about several charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners International, ASPCA, and Wounded Warriors. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be 

made in her name to one of these organizations. 

Graveside services will be held on April 10, 2021 at Wilder Cemetary in Wilder, Idaho at 11 AM. The 

family would like to invite family and friends to gather at the Basque Center in Homedale, Ida. 

immediately following the service.
