Louis Leon Martin was born to Louis and Verona Martin, July 20, 1943, in Lovelock, NV.
Louie graduated from Pershing County High School in 1961.
A highlight of his high school years was being a member of the winning 1961 Nevada State Basketball team.
Louie joined the United States Air Force after high school and was stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ.
In 1966 he began an apprenticeship program for Plumbers and Pipefitters and joined U.A. Local 469 in Phoenix, AZ., in which he earned life membership for 50 years of service in 2018.
Louie worked as a pipefitter for Thomas Air and United Mechanical in Arizona and then for Honewell Inc,. in Oregon from 1976 until he retired in 2000.
Louie married his second wife, Deanna Martin, in 1974.
They moved to Eagle Point, OR in 1976 where they raised 4 children, David Young (Glenda), of Trail, OR; Steven Martin, of White City, OR; Richard Martin, of Louisiana; and Debbie Brudevold (Rodney), of Eagle Point, OR.
Louie enjoyed farming, working the land, growing hay, and raising cows. He had a passion for working on cars and equipment and could fix anything that came his way.
Along with his son-in-law, Louie recently restored a 1951 Ford Pickup.
He enjoyed drag racing, spending time with his family, and going to the Oregon Coast. Louie died at his home in Eagle Point March 14, 2021.
Louie is survived by 8 grandchildren, Shawna Glover (Thomas), Jaydene Solorio (Sergio), KateLynn White (Anthony), Kassy Young, Kevin Schey (Nina), Karsten Young, Ally Hauge (John), Kayla Hubbard (Scott); and 8 great-grandchildren, Emily and Ashley Lumpkin, Alex and Roman Solorio, Hayden Bergmann, AJ and AyvaMae White, and Ella Hauge.
Louie was preceded in death by his father, Louis; mother, Verona; and brother, Edward.
