Battle Mountain NNA swim team returns to action

The Battle Mountain NNA swim team returned to the pool for a two-day event in Reno. Due to Covid rules, no spectators were allowed and swimmers had to wait outside in chilly conditions before swimming in their events.

Olivia Baker placed sixth in the girls 12 and under 50-yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute; 35.56 seconds, while Suzie Thompson was 10th in the girls 11-12 year-old 100-yard individual medley at 1:31.19 and 21st in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:17.03.

Nevaeh Serna took home the top spot in the girls 12 and under 50-yard backstroke at 41.21, which was an improvement of 2.19 seconds. 

She was third in the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 45.90, three seconds better than her previous best and she was third in the 50-yard freestyle at 34.58, a 4.82 second improvement.

Serna placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:24.09, sixth in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 48.65 and sixth in the 50-yard breaststroke in a time of 48.65, a 4.95 second improvement.

Weston Reiva placed fourth in the boys 12 and under 50-yard freestyle in a time of 49.41, fifth in the 50-yard backstroke at 53.65 and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:56.73.

Shayne McMillin finished seventh in the girls 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:55.94, eighth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:30.20) and 10th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:08.65), which was a 8.67 second improvement.

McMillin finished 12th in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:21.60, a 4.10 second improvement and she was 13th in the 50-yard freestyle at 32.04.

Piper Linnenbringer finished 18th in the girls 12 and under 50-yard freestyle with a time of 52.46 and Mckenzie was fourth in the girls 12 and under 50-yard freestyle at 57.35.

Juliet La Riva placed 19th in girls 12 and under the 50-yard freestyle, a 23.13 second improvement, 19th in the 50-yard breaststroke at 52,26 and 20th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:44.64).

Saige Bakker turned in a third-place finish in the girls 10 and under 100-yard individual medley in a time of 2:51.24. She added a fifth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (58.27) and was sixth in the 50-yard backstroke at 57.59, a 15.07 second improvement.

Daxon Bakker was fourth in the bots  and under 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle in times of 52.75 and 2:01.20, respectively. 

He was sixth in the 25-yard backstroke (25.83) and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle at 58.56.

Zayne Hall finished 23rd in the 100-yard backstroke (1:15.95), a 5.05 second improvement, 24th in the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.40), 28th in the 50-yard freestyle (25.69), 29th in the 200-yard freestyle, 32nd in the 200-yard individual medley and 39th in the 100-yard freestyle.
