Our beautiful angel mom and Nana, June Nielson Albiston joined her sweetheart, Ray Albiston, on Thursday June, 17th, 2021.
She lived one hundred and three beautiful years on this earth, and was loved by all.
Ray and June lived in Lovelock for 54 years where they found their lovely home on Western Avenue and raised their five daughters. Ray owned “Ray’s Texaco” gas station, a full service gas station.
As the highway then ran through Lovelock ‘his place’ was the place to stop, he serviced many cars and bicycles, his candy counter and soda pop machine were always open to his favorite Lovelocker’s, and his daughters always loved to pull up, get that full service tank of gas, candy, pop, and a kiss all for free!!
Ray died in 1996, and June continued to live in Lovelock for 8 more years until moving to Utah to be closer to her family. She spent 12 years in Heber City, UT, from 2005-2017 with her daughter, Becky, and family.
She then went to Ogden, to live with her daughter LaRae, for the remaining years of her life. June loved her Lovelock family, and Lovelock will always hold a special place in all our hearts, for this is where it all began.
They were both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They unselfishly served their family, friends, neighbors, their community and their God.
June was a woman of strong unwavering faith, and never ending service. She was humble, kind, and full of grace, and yes there was plenty of sparkle and spunk!
She perfected her homemaking skills so that her home was a ‘haven of rest’ for all who entered, her arms were always open for a warm embrace.
She had many talents and abilities, she loved spending time in her flower garden, quilting many quilts, most of which she gave away.
She was always knitting and crocheting something beautiful, but most important she was known for Junie’s or Nana’s cinnamon rolls, her delicious bread, and she gave to all.
We will miss her, but her faith and our faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ gives us comfort and hope for a joyful reunion again with her.
June is survived by her five daughters, LaRae and Jack Shaffer, Ogden Utah, Sandy and Don Cottam, Ogden Utah, Colleen and Dean Forest, St. George Utah, Becky and David Reiss, Heber City Utah, Vicki Albiston, Anchor Bay, California. 32 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ray Albiston, grandson Loren Ray Shaffer, granddaughter Rebecca June Cottam, great granddaughter Ariann Maree Jacobs, Mother, Father, and five siblings.
