Last year the Fenner family visited 16 states and traveled over 50,000 miles competing in youth rodeo.

They’re well on their way to beat their record this year. Most recently, they headed to Fort Worth, Texas, for the Junior National Finals Rodeo so Rori Fenner, 9, could run barrels.

“She’s the youngest competitor in this whole thing,” said Ann-Marie Fenner, her mother. The Fenners gutted the living area of their trailer and rebuilt it with triple bunk beds. At some of their stops, there are no hotels.

After the J-NFR, they’ll drive over 200 miles to Guthrie, Oklahoma, for the National Little Britches Finals. Rhea, 11, Rori, 9, and Roan, 7, each qualified to compete.

Rhea is the 2020 NLBRA Resistol Rookie of the Year Junior Girl. She battled for the top spot with hundreds of nine through 13-year-old girls from all over the country.

Rhea and Rori both qualified for the 2021 NFR Junior World Finals in Las Vegas, NV, this December. In 2020, Rori earned over $15,000 and Rhea won almost $7,000. “They’ve made big names for themselves and call little Lovelock home,” says Ann-Marie.
