Battle Mountain swimmers continue season

A pair of Battle Mountain swimmers were in Reno the weekend of June 18-20 for the Reno Aquatic Club Gamble. Hot weather and delays greeted the swimmers as competition was delayed three times due to lightning.

Zayne Hall competed in the 13 and over age group and was sixth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 24.44 seconds, a 4.71 second improvement. He placed ninth in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.92, a 1.11 second drop and he took off nearly eight seconds in the 200-freestyle to finish at2:06.53.

Hall was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing at 1:17.40, a 3.60 second improvement. He placed eighth in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:07.95, a 3.60 second improvement and he took more than 10 seconds off in the 200-yard backstroke to finish eighth in a time of 2:23.97.

Hall finished seventh in the 100-yard freestyle, taking off 2.60 seconds.

Neveah Serna was third in the 100-yard breaststroke in the 12 and under division and she placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:14.34, a 11.03 second improvement.

Serna stopped the clock at 2:46.29 in the 200-yard freestyle and she placed eighth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:26.71, a 12.74 improvement. In the 50-yard butterfly, Serna was eighth in a time of 45.77, a 3.25 second improvement and she cut nearly 13 seconds off in the 100-yard backstroke to place third in a time of 1:26.71.

Serna finished fourth in the 50-yard backstroke at 42.25, fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (35.06), a 4.34 second improvement and she placed eighth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 3:12.16.

 

Swimmers compete in Elko

This past weekend the Battle NNA, Winnemucca NNA and Reno NNA competed as one in Elko. Each team has their own coach but coached together at meets.

The Reno swimmers ere Genoa Nixon, Wally Husterad and Chloe Landan. The Winnemucca swimmers include Hadley Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Jillian Bell, Tea' Bengoa, Paris Collins, Camila Contreras, Etienne Morgan, Lexington Morgan, Raelynn Pinkston. 

Bengoa scored 63 points over the weekend, Collins 91, Contreras 36, Hall 85, Husted 78, Evie Morgan 53, Lexi Morgan 38, Nixon 102, Pinkston 30, Serna 100, Landon 104, McKenzie Linnenbringer 88, Piper Linnenbringer 77, Hadley Anderson 37, Hayden Anderson 70, Bauer 17 and Bell 68.
