Obituary: Johnathan “Johnny” Douglas Mondt

Johnathan “Johnny” Douglas Mondt passed away on June 14, 2021.

He was born on October 7, 1991, in McPherson, Kansas to Douglas and Dawn Mondt. 

At a young age, Johnny moved to Winnemucca with his family, where he resided for the last 21 years. 

He graduated high school and worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Hycroft Mine. 

Johnny married Cheyenne McCoy on October 24, 2015. 

The two shared 5 years of love and 2 sweet children, Maleena Nichole and Draven Douglas Ray. 

He grew up in the Calvary Baptist Church in Armada, Michigan and attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Winnemucca, Nevada. 

He enjoyed shooting, music, video games, spending time with his babies and working on cars. 

Johnny was kind, helpful and very loving. There were no strangers he loved everyone and had the biggest heart. 

Johnny is survived by his wife of 5 years, Cheyenne. His two Children, Maleena and Draven. 

His parents, Douglas and Dawn Mondt. Grandparents, LeRoy Mosel, and Barbara Gatlin. Brothers, Michael, James and Stephen Mondt and sisters-in-law, Bethany, Erin, and Stephanie Mondt. 

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ellen Herrick. 

A Funeral Service for Johnathan “Johnny” Douglas Mondt was held on June 18, 2021, at 2 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church 226 E 4th St. Winnemucca, NV. 

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Funds have been set up for Johnny’s wife and children.
