June 1

William Benjamin Van Drielen pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery first offense. On February 8, 2021 the defendant’s public defender application was denied. On March 30, the defendant was present in court representing himself. The court faretta canvassed the defendant and found him capable of representing himself. On June 1, 2021 the DA made a motion to dismiss the case as his office can not prove the case without a reasonable doubt. No objections were made and the court granted the DA’s motion and dismissed the case.



Ronald Eugene Shuga pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence 1st offense and driving on half of highway required. The court ruled as follows: sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of 1 year, stayed jail time on the condition he serve 2 days. The defendant was given credit for 1 day time served. The remaining 24 hours was converted to 48 hours of house arrest. Defendant was ordered to pay a fine of $4400 + $125 AA + $60 Forensic fee totaling $585. The DUI and victim impact panel were ordered to be completed by August 15, 2021. The breath interlock device was ordered for 185 days. The DA made a motion to dismiss count 2, driving on half of the highway required. The court granted the DA’s motion. Bail Bond was exonerated.



Marcus J. Crutcher pleaded Nolo Contendre/No Contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence - first offense. The defendant represented himself. The court ruled as follows: sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of 1 year stayed jail time on the condition he serve 2 days. Defendant was given credit for the 7 hours time served. The remaining 41 hours was converted to 82 hours of house arrest. Defendant to pay a fine of $400+$125 AA+$60 Forensic fee totaling $585. The DUI School and Victim Impact Panel were ordered to be completed by August 1, 2021. The Breath Interlock Device was ordered for 185 days. Bail Bond was exonerated.



June 3

Jordan Anthony Diaz pleaded guilty to misdemeanor count1 driving under the influence, first offense, and count 2 basic speed. The defendant represented himself in court and provided a copy of his alcohol evaluation prior to the hearing. The court ruled as follows: sentenced to 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of 1 year stayed jail time on the condition he serve 2 days. The defendant was given credit for 1 day time served. The remaining 24 hours was converted to 48 hours of house arrest. The defendant was ordered to pay a fine of $400+$125 AA+$60 forensic fee totaling $585. The DUI School and victim impact panel were ordered to be completed by August 1, 2021. The Breath Interlock Device was ordered 185 days. He was given credit for having the interlock device for 185 days. The DA made a motion to dismiss Count 2 and the court granted the motion.



June 8

Samantha Raynin was charged with misdemeanor operating an unregistered vehicle and no proof of insurance. However, on June 8 the DA made a motion to dismiss the case as the defendant sold the vehicle the day after the citation was issued. The DA granted the motion and the case was dismissed. 



Samuel Mcbrayer Lackey was charged with misdemeanor count 1 expired license plates, count 2 basic speed 1 - 10 over limit, count 3 driving with suspended license, count 4 operate vehicle without/tamper with breath interlock device, and count 5 fail to change name/address on driver's license. The DA made a motion to amend the citation on the record, as the defendant has provided the DA’s office with a valid drivers license along with proof of the interlock device being installed. The defendant entered a guilty plea to count 2. The DA made a motion to dismiss the remaining charges. The court granted the DA;s motion. The defendant was ordered to pay a fine of $100+$95 for a total of $195. The defendant was given 30 days to pay the fine in full. 



Velora Star Brown was charged with misdemeanor battery. The defendant was not present at the hearing but her attorney of record, Jeffrey Miller, was present on her behalf. The DA made a motion to dismiss the case and the court granted the DA’s motion. Bail bond was exonerated.
