I am writing in response to the recent article by Dan O’Connor published June 2, 2021. I am very disappointed with standards you’ve apparently set. I realize this article is commentary, but it is filled with innuendo and misinformation. This isn’t the first article to do that; he and other “guest” commentators have done the same regarding the Covid vaccine, masks and Covid-19 in general.
He and they are entitled to his opinions, but many community members will believe these are facts as you’ve made no attempt to assuage the lies.
You don’t even note that the commentary may not represent the beliefs of newspaper staff. You’ve given a platform to attack pandemic mitigation efforts and promote this propaganda. You’ve put lives at risk. It is irresponsible for you to allow this misinformation to spread.
I can only assume that your failure to disavow this means that you support it. Thus, I can no longer support your newspaper.
